PASTOR. FATHER. MUSICIAN.
Bishop Virgil D. Patterson Sr. is a pastor, musician, clothier, educator, gifted orator and overseer of the Crusade Christian Faith Center. He moved with his family from Louisiana to Los Angeles, California as a young child and he had a strong interest in music. At just twelve years old, Bishop Patterson was directing choirs and serving as the organist for Morning Star Baptist Church, and then First Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life Bishop Patterson began his career as an educator teaching English and History. In addition to his academic work, Bishop Patterson employed his musical gifts as the director of the 300-voice youth choir of East LA. The choir headlined numerous events during its season including the inauguration of Mayor Tom Bradley.
During his time as a teacher, Bishop Patterson launched out into entrepreneurship with the development of his own clothing store. After years of working as an educator and entrepreneur, Bishop Patterson followed the call of God to form the Crusade For Christ Community Choir in 1977, and after two years, the choir developed into the church that is now Crusade Christian Faith Center. In 2007, he was consecrated to the office of Bishop and has covered pastors and churches in California, Georgia, New York, North Carolina, Minnesota, and Japan.

Bishop Patterson has been married to the love of his life Pastor Jeraldine Patterson since 1974 and they have an incredible family of eight children and eighteen grandchildren.
