The House That Worship Built
What began as a community choir, is now a thriving church family that never forgot it's roots in praise and worship.
This is the house of prayer, praise and worship!
Crusade Christian Faith Center
In The Beginning
Bishop Virgil D. Patterson Sr. is an acclaimed musician who has been playing organ and directing choirs since the age of twelve years old. He was also the organizer of the Patterson trio, a singing group made up of three of his children who recorded and sang across the state and the country. In 1977 Virgil D. Patterson Sr. assembled a community choir called “Crusade For Christ”. With more than fifty voices, the Crusade choir traveled ministering unique gospel songs and arrangements many of which were written by Virgil Patterson. The choir began having bible studies after rehearsals and realized that they had much more than a signing group, they were laying the foundation for a church. In 1979, Crusade Christian Faith Center was formally organized with Pastor Virgil Patterson serving as leader.
Crusade On The Move
The church began to grow and reach scores of people because of its dedication to authentic praise and worship with singing groups like the Men of Faith, the Women of Faith, and the Crusade choir. The church also demonstrated excellence in the arts with the Crusade Grace dancers, step team, and orchestra. Out of this love for the arts came the Crusade Ministry School of The Arts: a training center to help other churches develop their artistic ministry including praise dancing, oratorical skills, and worship. Crusade began to take this worship experience on the road putting on “Praise Conferences” both nationally and internationally. At Crusade, lives have been impacted through the powerful preaching of Bishop Virgil Patterson, Pastor Jerri Patterson and several Crusade leaders who all emphasize the gospel of Jesus Christ and it’s power to change everything. In 2001, the church moved into its current building on 801 S LaBrea, in Inglewood CA.
Crusade Today
In April of 2023, Bishop Virgil Patterson announced that it was time for him to "re-fire" and for the church to welcome a new leader. After much prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Patterson presented Princeton Parker as his recommendation for senior pastor. After a unanimous vote by both the church board and the congregation, Princeton Parker was confirmed as Pastor Elect of CCFC. In this time of transition one thing remains: Crusade Christian Faith Center is a house of prayer praise and worship that exists to raise up people who authentically worship God, live for God’s glory and are equipped to serve the world.
